Kinsey's 5th birthday!

Happy Birthday to my little angel!
I can't believe you are 5!

Guests were greeted at the door with an art easel adorn with balloons.  The sweets table was the biggest hit as always...with "paint chip marshmallows", cupcakes topped with cute little art palettes, iced sugar cookies, "edible crayons", rice krispie paint brushes & brownie balls atop plastic art palettes.  They geared up (aprons & gloves) and the creativity started flying.  Some of it literally!

We had two stations set up: Tie Dye a canvas bag and splatter paint an initial canvas.  With the modeling clay I had bagged individually for each guest and the craft paper table runners....each guest had no trouble finding a craft to do.

It was a great celebration.  I love you Kinsey....to the moon and back!  Happy 5th Birthday!

First day of School Survival Kit

I walked around with a BandAid brand first aid kit for about an hour in WalMart last night...hahaha!!! Here is my end result...

I bought a tackle box and filled it with simple things.  Snickers, packs of gum, tic tacs, highlighters, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, etc.  You could use just about anything.  I printed the front label on full sheet label paper and designed a gift tag in photoshop.  My husband said I probably needed to put some tylenol in there (my dd and nephew are going to be in the same class...so this teacher needs more than a survival kit really.....lots of prayers), but I don't think you are supposed to give drugs to your child's teacher!    I personally prefer chocolate over tylenol anyway!

Our little ROCKSTAR is 2!

Happy birthday Easton!

So our little boy is 2 already and I just can't believe it!  Wow how the year has flown by!  This year I decided on a "rockstar" theme.  Completely different from the usual frilly pink parties I am use to throwing for my daughter.  (She has actually thrown me for a loop this year too.  She has requested an Art Party!)  You will see her party details posted after her party in September.   So...here we go....the venue was the School of Rock.  A learning center for those interested in playing some rock n roll!

All parties start with an invitation...right?  So here it is...

Party set up began here with the cake....
and this cake was sooooo yummy and absolutely precious!

and some rockstar cookies in the shapes of music notes, #2 stars and sunglasses!

A closer look at the rest of the yummy details....I love the "rocker bar" hershey bars and the wrapped nerds!

Beverage station...
one of my favorite details was the "kool-aid" labels I designed!

SOOOOOO....here's where the party began.  As each guest entered, they were given a backstage pass which granted them exclusive access to the party.  Here is where they "transformed into a rockstar" with glasses, beads, glow bracelets, tattoos and color/glitter hairspray and given a microphone of their own to start the show.

The guests then had fun playing the guitar, drums & singing!

There was also a station to design your own cardboard or inflatable guitar...
Each party guest left with a bag of sweets and a bag of goodies...
Here is a picture of my sweet family (or should I say, the little rockstar, his manager, his security guard and his #1 fan!)

My little rocker in his rockstar shirt!
Thanks everyone who shared this day with us...I enjoyed every minute!
